@Pontifex Joins #MarchforLife from Afar: Pope Benedict XVI Tweets to Marchers

No doubt a day in U.S. history for the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Most of the news media turned a blind eye, as is their custom, to the largest annual gathering of civil opposition to an unjust American law. USA Today noticed. But it should not go unnoticed that among those "marching" online via Twitter feed (#MarchforLife), one voice stands out.

I wonder if @BarackObama and @MichelleObama noticed the mitre among the mighty throng of hundreds of thousands of marchers, both those on foot and those looking on from afar.

Although he didn't indulge us Latin lovers, he did not neglect to send the message in Spanish as well ...

This Spanish tweet should not go unnoticed, as Hispanics in America, though predominantly Catholic, find themselves on the wrong side politically on this issue. Perhaps they might feel that certain politicians are more attuned to their interests than others. The strength that they are coveted as a voting bloc increases their influence on this issue. Thus, the Catholic Church in America must proclaim the Gospel of Life not only boldly, but bilingually!
